In what could only be a sign that President Joe Biden is losing a part of his hardcore base to former President Donald Trump, a prominent leader in the Black community has just given formal endorsement to the former president.

Co-founder and leader of Black Lives Matter Rhode Island Mark Fisher announced he is endorsing the former president for 2024. The prominent black live leader said he would not be backing the Democratic party in 2024 because of its racist policies.

“You know, we’ve been used for so long at that party,” Fisher said. “They don’t value our vote. Their policies are basically racist policies and I believe in its a racist party. Donald Trump is the opposite. He’s going to tell you how it is. He’s going to give it to you straight. Trump has done more for the black community than any president I can think of in my lifetime.”

Fisher joined Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday to discuss his recent support for President Trump.

“I think personally it’s the duplicity of the Democrats, the hypocrisy,” Fisher told co-host Lawrence Jones. “We are not stupid. The brothers are not stupid. We understand when someone is for us and when someone is not. It’s obvious that the Democratic Party is not for us. Their policies actually strike at the heart of the black family and nuclear family.A lot of people are misinformed. They don’t understand because they don’t educate themselves on Donald Trump as a person and his history. But, if they do that and it’s going to take, you know, leaders, educating leaders to get the word out there. I think it will happen on its own. It will be organic because personally, I love the man. How could you as like a real man, how could you not relate to someone like that?”

Fisher’s Trump endorsement comes after A recent poll conducted by The New York Post and Siena College showed the former president’s support among Blacks in swing states has risen to 22% compared to the 8% it was this time in 2020.
