Hamas released a second batch of Israeli hostages on Saturday, including 13 Israeli citizens and 4 Thai nationals.

According to a statement from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the Red Cross transferred the hostages out of Gaza and into Egypt to the meeting point at Kerem Shalom before they were transported back to Israel to undergo initial medical assessments. Many of the hostages were later taken to hospital for additional treatment.


The 13 Israeli national released included, Shoshan Haran, 67; Adi Shoham, 38; Yahel Shoham, 3; Naveh Shoham, 8; Shiri Weiss, 53; Noga Weiss, 18; Maya Regev, 21; Hila Rotem, 12; Emily Hand, 9; Noam Or, 17; Alma Or, 13; Noam Avigdori, 12; and Sharon Avigdori, 52. Maya Regev had to be taken to Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva (Beersheba) for urgent medical treatment.


The terror group, however, broke the terms of the agreement when it failed to release Raya Rotem, 54. Raya is the mother of 12-year-old Hila Rotem, who was one of the released hostages. According to The Times Of Israel, the Israeli government believes Hamas’ failure to release Raya Rotem is a violation of its agreement with the terror group that families will not be separated


Hamas released the first batch of hostages on Friday, with 26 hostages, including 13 Israeli women and children, 12 Thai and one Filipino hostages released.

The Israeli government did not immediately reveal the identities of the hostages released in the first batch. However, the Times of Israel reported the names of the hostages released The Israeli hostages include, Hanna Katzir, 77; Margalit Mozes, 77; Yafa Ader, 85; Hannah Perry, 79; Adina Moshe, 72; Danielle Aloni, 44; Emilia Aloni, 9; Ruthi Mondar, 78; Keren Mondar, 54; Ohad Mondar, 9; Aviv Asher, 2; Raz Asher, 5; and Doron Katz-Asher, 34.

So far, none of the Americans taken hostage have been released, leading many to criticize President Joe Biden’s ineffectiveness.

Former President Donald Trump said Hamas’ failure to release American hostages is because no one respects the country.

“Has anybody noticed that Hamas has returned people from other Countries but, so far, has not returned one American Hostage? There is only one reason for that, NO RESPECT FOR OUR COUNTRY OR OUR LEADERSHIP. This is a very sad and dark period of America!” Trump wrote Saturday on Truth Social.
