British monarch, King Charles III, has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, according to reports from Buckingham Palace.

News of the monarch’s cancer diagnosis comes a few days after he was discharged from the hospital for treatment of a non-cancerous enlarged prostate. Breitbart News reports that the type of cancer has not been revealed, and it was discovered during tests the King underwent during his hospital stay.

The outlet also reports that while the King is unable to perform public duties, his constitutional role will remain unaffected, and he will be able to continue his state business and official paperwork as usual.

The King was last seen with Queen Camilla attending church on Sunday at St. Mary Magdalene Church near Sandringham, where the royal family traditionally attends mass on Christmas day. He returned to London on Monday to commence treatment as an outpatient.

Reports show the monarch has informed both of his sons —The Prince of Wales, Prince William, and The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry— about his diagnosis. Princes Harry and William are said to be in regular contact with their father since the diagnosis.

Prince Harry, who has been estranged from the royal family, reportedly spoke to his father and will be traveling down to the United Kingdom to see him in a few days.

Before the news was made public, the monarch informed his siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.

According to multiple sources, the statement from Buckingham Palace comes a day after World Cancer Day when Queen Camilla opened Maggie’s Royal Free, a new cancer support center at the Royal Free Hospital in the United Kingdom to raise awareness and provide expert care and support for free.

British political leaders and international leaders all offered their wishes for the King. Among them was former President Donald Trump, who sent a message on his Truth Social platform praising the King and sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

“King Charles has cancer. He is a wonderful man who I got to know well during my presidency, and we all pray that he has a fast and full recovery,” Trump wrote.

President Joe Biden also expressed his concerns for the King following his diagnosis.

“I’m concerned about him. Just heard his diagnosis. But I’ll be talking to him, God willing,” Biden told the reporters.”
