Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has maintained that President Donald Trump is the right candidate to shut down the deep state and lead the American people to victory.
Ramaswamy made the declaration while appearing with the former president at a Trump campaign event in New Hampshire on Tuesday. The former GOP candidate maintained that the American people are at war with the deep state before adding that only Trump can lead the American people to victory.
Ramaswamy added that the American people are living in a 1776 moment right now before going into full details of what it is to be a Republican today.
“It (being a Republican) means we believe in the ideals of 1776: ideals like freedom and merit and the pursuit of excellence; that you get ahead in this country, not on the color of your skin but on the content of your character and your contributions. End affirmative action, end the DEI,” Ramaswamy said. “We are done with the nonsense, send it back home. It means you believe in the rule of law. And I say this as the kid of legal immigrants to this country, that means your first act of entering this country cannot break the law. And that is why we need to use our military to secure our own southern border in this country. That’s what it means to stand for the rule of law in the United States of America. It means the people we elect to run the government need to be the ones who actually run the government, not the shadow government and the deep state that runs the show today.”

Ramaswamy announced he would be suspending his campaign following Trump’s Monday night record-breaking win at the Iowa Caucus.
“As of this movement we are going to suspend this presidential campaign,” Ramaswamy said after scoring just 6.8% in Iowa. “There is no path forward for me to be president absent things that we don’t want to see happen in this country.”
The billionaire businessman later said he called Trump, who scored more than 50% in Iowa, to congratulate him for his commanding lead.

“Tonight I called Donald Trump to … congratulate him on his victory, and now, moving forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency, and I think we are doing the right thing for this country,” Ramaswamy said. “So I am going to ask you to follow me in taking our America First movement to the next level.”
