A rumored running mate of former President Donald Trump spoke up on Saturday, vowing to give all her energy to ensure the former president’s success in November.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), one of bookmakers’ favorites to be Trump’s running mate, told Breitbart News Saturday that she will devote all her energy to ensure the former president wins the November election.

“I know that I’m going to put my energy into making certain that Donald Trump is elected, and we need him to win this race and to win it strong and hit the ground running Day One,” Blackburn said. “So all of my energy is going to be making certain that he wins, and making certain that I win. We need to be sure that we all get on the Trump team.”

While Trump has not announced his running mate, Blackburn has been rumored to be the former president’s VP. The lawmaker addressed those rumors on Saturday by signifying she would be willing to jump on the ticket with Trump.

“If the President asked me to do something, I’m going to do it to make certain that he wins, to make certain that we get this country back on the right track,” Blackburn added.

The GOP lawmaker, who endorsed Trump as far back as last April, urged the Republican party to unify behind the former president in his bid to win back the White House this year.

“It is time for the party to unify,” Blackburn said. “People ought to get out [of the race]. The party needs to unify. We need to move on and focus on Donald Trump beating Joe Biden and Donald Trump being the 47th president of the United States. It is time for us to put our energy into making certain that he wins and that the candidates that he is endorsing are going to win.”

The lawmaker urged other GOP candidates to drop out of the presidential race so the party could concentrate its resources on electing the former president and other Republican candidates running for various offices.

“We’ve got a great candidate over in Ohio that is going to win that primary and is going to move forward and win that seat. We need to get busy on this. And Republicans need to get with the president and get on that America First and Make America Great Again agenda,” Blackburn stressed.
