Former President Donald Trump on Friday took to his Truth Social media account to make a sad revelation about the U.S.
The former president blasted President Joe Biden’s administration for targeting him politically while adding that all the charges against him could have been brought three years ago. Trump revealed that his ongoing trials show that the nation is turning into a “Banana Republic.”
“All of these Biden ‘Political Opponent’ Lawsuits against me could have been brought three years ago, but the slimeballs brought them right in the middle of my very successful campaign for President,” Trump wrote on Truth. “The J6 Fake Case, where the Obama appointed, Trump Hating Judge, Tanya S. Chutkan, actually had the audacity to schedule the trial THE DAY BEFORE SUPER TUESDAY (always considered the biggest of all Primary days), has been put into serious question when most of the Unselect Committee’s evidence was deleted and destroyed. This illegal act, that would have shown the GUILT of Crazy Nancy Pelosi, and others, should end this Biden Witch Hunt. Our FAILING NATION is now becoming a BANANA REPUBLIC. MAGA!”

A few hours after Trump shared the post, a federal appeals court in D.C. upheld a gag order issued against the former president. The court lifted
“Specifically, we affirm the Order to the extent it prohibits all parties and their counsel from making or directing others to make public statements about known or reasonably foreseeable witnesses concerning their potential participation in the investigation or in this criminal proceeding,” the court held. “The Order is also affirmed to the extent it prohibits all parties and their counsel from making or directing others to make public statements about—(1) counsel in the case other than the Special Counsel, (2) members of the court’s staff and counsel’s staffs, or (3) the family members of any counsel or staff member—if those statements are made with the intent to materially interfere with, or to cause others to materially interfere with, counsel’s or staff’s work in this criminal case, or with the knowledge that such interference is highly likely to result.”
Special Counsel Jack Smith just lost his coverage under the Trump gag order. The D.C. panel upheld the rest of the order but found that Judge Chutkan's order…sweeps in more protected speech than is necessary.” https://t.co/yYw8BIIqIk

The court however lifted part of the order that prohibited the former president from talking about Special Special Counsel Jack Smith. The court also ruled that Trump could talk about witnesses, but only concerning their potential participation in the investigation.
NEW: DC Circuit narrows the federal gag order on Trump, permitting him to make statements about Jack Smith (but not other prosecutors) and barring him from targeting witnesses in the case specifically concerning their role in the matter. pic.twitter.com/skPJ3AtXsm
