Fani Willis and Nathan Wade were recently captured on video at Los Angeles International Airport, despite Willis’s previous statements that their relationship had ended in 2023. The Daily Mail released footage showing the pair, dressed casually, moving through the airport’s shops and restaurants on Tuesday.
This public sighting marks the first time the former romantic partners have been seen together since their relationship became public knowledge. Willis had appointed Wade as a special prosecutor in the case against former President Donald Trump regarding alleged election interference in 2020, but she was ultimately removed from the case in December following the relationship scandal, even after Wade’s resignation.
The controversy deepened when Michael Roman, who managed Election Day operations for Trump’s 2020 campaign and is a co-defendant in the case, revealed that Wade had received $645,000 for his work on the prosecution. While Willis admitted to a personal relationship with Wade beginning in 2022, defense testimony suggested their involvement started earlier, with one witness describing intimate interactions between them in 2019.

Adding to Willis’s legal troubles, she was recently ordered to pay $54,000 in attorney fees for violating Georgia’s Open Records Act. Attorney Ashleigh Merchant, representing Roman, challenged Willis’s office for failing to provide requested public records.
In her ruling, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Rachel Krause determined that Willis’s non-compliance with records law “were intentional, not done in good faith, and were substantially groundless and vexatious.” The judge also concluded that Willis “lacked substantial justification” for withholding the documents, requiring her to cover legal expenses and release the requested files.
Merchant expressed that legal action was a last resort, stating, “We definitely didn’t want to file suit. They were just ignoring it and telling us that documents didn’t exist that we knew existed and resisting at every move, so we really didn’t have a choice.”
Fani Willis and Nathan Wade just got busted at the airport together, meaning they both committed perjury when they said their relationship was over two years ago.
