Trump THANKS American People

In Milwaukee – At the closing moment of the 2024 Republican National Convention, the former president of the United States, five days after escaping an attempted assassination, appealed for national unity while formally accepting the GOP presidential nomination.

Trump stressed this point while speaking to the thousands of delegates, party officials, and activists crammed into Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum as well as the nationwide audience of Americans following the convention from home. “I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America,” he declared.

“We need to mend the separation and strife that exist in our society. Our common destiny and shared fate bind us together as Americans. Together, we climb. Or we crumble,” the outgoing president said.

Trump has admitted that the massacre at his rally on Saturday in western Pennsylvania, which left one attendee and the gunman dead, immediately affected the convention’s tone and message. He also changed his speech at the convention. “Let me begin this evening by expressing my gratitude to the American people for your outpouring of love and support following the assassination attempt at my rally on Saturday,” Trump stated. “As you already know, the assassin’s bullet came within a quarter of an inch of taking my life.”

“So many people have asked me what happened, so I’ll tell you what happened,” declared the former president and GOP presidential contender.

“You’ll never hear it from me a second time because it’s too painful to tell,” said the man.

In his account of the incident, Trump claimed to have known “we were under attack.”

The president thanked the “very brave Secret Service agents who rushed to the stage and pounced on top of me for protection.”

“There was blood pouring everywhere, and yet, in a certain way, I felt very safe because I had God on my side,” Trump stated. “The amazing thing is that prior to the shot, if I had NOT moved my head at the very last instant, the assassin’s bullet would have perfectly hit its mark, and I would not be with you tonight.”

“This is not where I’m supposed to be tonight. It is only by the grace of the All-Powerful God that I am here in this arena. It was a providential time, according to many,” Trump stated.

However, the assembly yelled, “Yes, you are. Indeed, you are.

He also said, “None of us understands God’s plan or where our life’s journey will lead. However, if last Saturday’s events teach us anything, it’s that every second we spend here on Earth is a gift from God. For the sake of our loved ones and our nation, we must live each day to the fullest.” Additionally, Trump indicated that the former president had put Corey Comperatore’s firefighting jacket and helmet on the platform. Comperatore was a former fire chief who was slain at the rally. Additionally, he requested a moment of silence from the audience.

In recent days, he claimed to have raised almost $6 million for Comperatore’s family as well as the families of the two men who were critically injured in the shooting.

The former first lady Melania Trump, who is married to the former president, was also thanked.

“I am extremely honored to have my wonderful wife, Melania, along on this journey,” Trump said in a moving speech to the Milwaukee audience.

Then, he brought up her letter to America, where she demanded unification following her husband’s murder attempt.

“I am thinking of you, now, my fellow Americans,” she wrote in her letter. Dawn has returned. Come back together, please. Right now.”

The former president commended the letter.

“And many thanks to Melania as well. You also accomplished something quite lovely—a letter to America urging for the unification of the country. And the Republican Party was truly unprepared for it. It was lovely, I’ll tell you that,” he remarked.

“A few very important individuals suggested that we include the letter in the Republican platform. Don’t you think that would be an honor?”

In addition, the former president expressed gratitude to his family, particularly to his kids and grandkids. However, following his near-death experience, the former president advocated for a cooling of the political atmosphere that was scorched by vehement discourse from both the left and the right.

“In an age when our politics too often divide us, now is the time to remember that we are all fellow citizens—we are one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” Trump stated.
