A daring Halloween party scheme unfolded at a luxurious Nantucket Airbnb when local high school students broke into a $2.34 million property after their rental request was rejected.
The incident began when property owner Edith Stone Lentini received a suspicious booking inquiry that stated: “My daughter wants to throw a little Halloween party for her and her friends and I was wondering if that’s possible.”

The teenagers, aged 14 and 15, proposed a simple photo opportunity in costumes at the $810-per-night residence, adding: “It wouldn’t even really be a party. I will leave the house spotless and I’m sure nothing will be ruined.”
Sensing something amiss, Lentini disregarded the request. Her suspicions were confirmed when Nantucket Police contacted her on November 1st regarding unauthorized activity at her property.
The ingenious teens had orchestrated a meticulously planned gathering, accessing the property through an unsecured window. The party featured a strategic arrival schedule, with freshmen entering at 9 p.m., followed by sophomores, and seniors arriving last.
Evidence surfaced when the mastermind posted setup footage on Snapchat. Surprisingly, the participants demonstrated unexpected consideration for the property. They carefully relocated furniture, stored pillows in the basement, protected the white carpet, and even used caution tape around valuable items.
Upon inspection, Lentini discovered minimal damage beyond sticky floors. The 1999-built colonial property, boasting three bedrooms and five bathrooms, had been largely preserved by the conscientious trespassers.

“The audacity of it and the fact she staggered the grades!” Lentini remarked. “But knowing my house was not wrecked, I can take humor from it and say she should really become a party planner. I would hate for this to hinder her in her future.”
The gathering only came to authorities’ attention through a neighbor’s noise complaint. Nantucket Police Lt. Angus MacVicar confirmed an ongoing investigation, though no charges have been filed.
The residence, which commands $5,500 weekly during peak summer months, features upscale amenities including a furnished patio, screened porch, and full kitchen, with renovation plans scheduled for 2024.
