During a campaign stop in western Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her inability to address questions about her record and policies.

Trump visited Sprankles Market in Kittanning before heading to a rally in Indiana, PA, where he briefly spoke with employees and customers. While addressing the crowd outside the store, Trump took aim at Harris, referencing her recent interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“It’s based on the fact that this woman is not capable. She was on Oprah and she couldn’t answer the most basic question,” Trump said, referring to Harris’ performance during the interview.

“We’ve gone through four years of that,” he continued. “We’re not going to go through another four years of that. She couldn’t answer ANY questions — nobody knew what she was even talking about — and she didn’t know what she was talking about. We had four years of that, our country has gone to hell. Inflation. Crime, look at the crime numbers.”

Harris had faced scrutiny following her appearance on Oprah, where she struggled to respond to a question from the audience about how she planned to lower costs for American families. Instead of directly answering, Harris spoke more generally about the challenges of achieving the American Dream in modern times.

“In terms of both rightly having the right to have aspirations and dreams and ambitions for your family and working hard and finding that the American Dream is for this generation and so many recently far more elusive than it’s been, and we need to deal with that,” Harris replied.

Trump used the moment to underscore what he sees as Harris’s lack of competence and clarity, reiterating his criticism of the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of key issues such as inflation and crime.
