Former President Donald Trump offered advice to CNN’s Dana Bash on how she can “achieve greatness” during her pre-taped interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
The interview, scheduled to air at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, will be Harris’s first major appearance since President Joe Biden exited the presidential race last month. Harris is anticipated to participate in the interview alongside her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
“Dana Bash of CNN has a chance at greatness today. If she gave a fair but tough interview of Comrade Kamala Harris, she will expose her as being totally inept and ill suited for the job of president, much as I exposed Crooked Joe Biden during our now famous Debate. How cool would that be for Dana and CNN???” Trump said in a post to Truth Social.
The CNN debate between Trump and Biden occurred in late June, with Dana Bash and Jake Tapper serving as moderators. Following Biden’s stumbling performance, which caused a crisis of confidence among his supporters, he faced mounting pressure and ultimately stepped aside, allowing Harris to assume the top position on the Democratic Party’s ticket.
President Trump on Kamala's CNN "interview" tonight: "Why isn't it live? It's an interview that's going to be taped, edited, and then put out. That's not even an interview. And then she's doing it with her Vice President sitting there. So she's not very smart. When they ask her a… pic.twitter.com/7KuEZG3eHS

“Also, the interview should not have Tampon Tim present to help with the inevitable Kamala stumbles,” the former president continued, “and under no circumstances should the transcript be allowed to be changed in any way, shape, or form.”
Trump criticized Harris for mainly relying on scripted statements and brief media interactions throughout her early campaign. The nickname “Tampon Tim” has been associated with Walz since 2023, after he signed a law mandating that free menstrual products be provided in all public school bathrooms in Minnesota.
“Dana and Jake were fair, but firm, in my CNN Debate with Crooked Joe. This is a chance for Dana Bash to reach REAL stardom, while at the same time doing a great service to our now failing Country,” Trump added. “Good luck, Dana, do the right thing!!! DJT.”

There are approximately 67 and a half days until the election. Trump and Harris have agreed to their first debate on September 10, which will be hosted by ABC News. It remains uncertain if they will have another debate. Meanwhile, Walz and Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), are scheduled to debate on October 1 in a CBS News-hosted event.
