White House visitor logs confirmed that an attorney for Hunter Biden met with one of First Lady Jill Biden’s top aides and President Joe Biden days before the president’s son defied a congressional subpoena, according to reports by the New York Post.
White House visitors logs showed Hunter’s attorney, Abbe Lowell and Anthony Bernal, a top aide to Jill, were both at the White House on Dec. 11 in the East Wing.
The logs also showed that Lowell met with President Biden, but the outlet noted that the meeting was mainly about an official Hanukkah reception held on the same day.
The reception occurred just two days before Hunter Biden defied a congressional subpoena for a secret deposition. Instead, Hunter held an impromptu press conference, claiming his innocence.
During the press conference, Hunter denied that his father was financially involved in his business affairs, including dealings abroad with people from China and Ukraine. He also denied that President Biden had any influence on the sales of his artworks.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre later pointed out that Biden was familiar with what Hunter planned to say at the press conference.
Meanwhile, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has instructed that the White House must provide the public with information about the contents of this meeting to provide transparency to the American people.
“We’ve called on the White House to provide information about whether President Biden sought to influence or obstruct our investigation by preventing, discouraging, or dissuading his son from complying with the subpoenas for a deposition as part of the House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry, but the White House has refused to provide any information,” he said.
A month ago, the House Oversight Committee had also subpoenaed Bernal as part of their investigation into Vice Biden’s improper handling of secret documents.
The committee identified Bernal as someone who accessed secret materials at the Penn Biden Center before they were officially discovered there in November 2022.
