Elon Musk issued a stern caution to Senate Republicans on Sunday, addressing growing concerns about resistance to Trump’s cabinet selections.
The situation intensified after several moderate Republican senators expressed opposition to Trump’s nominees, contrasting sharply with the Democratic Party’s unified support of Biden’s cabinet picks in 2020, as highlighted by Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL).

The controversy escalated when five Republican Senators’ opposition forced Matt Gaetz to withdraw his Attorney General nomination.
Musk delivered his message via social media, warning that senators opposing public sentiment would face consequences in upcoming elections, either through primary challenges or general election defeats.
The tech mogul’s comments followed a detailed critique from “Insurrection Barbie,” who stated:
“So after Trump won the popular vote, the electoral college, all seven swing states, majorities in both chambers of Congress and the most minority support in decades republicans in the Senate:
1. Picked Thune to be Majority Leader – known Trump hater who didn’t want him to even run in 2024.
2. Put Mitch McConnell as the head of the rules committee and the defense spending committee – another known Trump hater who thwarted Trump’s first term agenda every step of the way.
3. Put Lisa Murkowski as head of the appropriations committee – liberal democrat who has almost never voted in line with the Republicans.”
Elon Musk: “I just voted in South Texas, where Starbase is, and now I'm headed to Florida to Mar-a-Lago to be there with President Trump and JD and a bunch of other cool people.”

She emphasized that these appointments effectively obstruct Trump’s second-term agenda through control of defense spending, rules, and appropriations. She noted that securing Senate seats in Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin c
ould have prevented establishment Republicans from gaining such influence.
The statement concluded with a call for accountability, emphasizing a two-year window to implement Trump’s agenda and warning of consequences for Republicans who oppose Trump’s voter base.
