Republican presidential nominee, former President Donald Trump, and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp both issued statements on Wednesday evening in response to the tragic shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, where four people were killed and nine others were injured.
Both leaders expressed their condolences and offered support to the victims and their families following the devastating incident.
“Our hearts are with the victims and loved ones of those affected by the tragic event in Winder, GA,” Trump said. “These cherished children were taken from us far too soon by a sick and deranged monster.”

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp expressed his sorrow in a statement, saying that he and his family were “heartbroken” by the news of the tragic shooting.
“This is a day every parent dreads, and Georgians everywhere will hug their children tighter this evening because of this painful event,” the GOP governor said. “We continue to work closely with local, state, and federal partners to make any and all resources available to help this community on this incredibly difficult day and in the days to come.”
Earlier in the day, the School received a threatening phone call. The caller warned that the school would be the first of many targets in a series of shootings planned in at least five different schools.
Despite the chilling warning, state law enforcement officials later confirmed that no other schools were subjected to school shootings.

Vice President Kamala Harris responded to the sad incident, saying that shooting incidents must come to an end.
The vice president did not, however, specify any particular actions or measures in her remarks, remaining broad in her response.
“Today, Doug and I are mourning the deaths of those whose lives were cut short by gun violence at Apalachee High School in Georgia,” Harris wrote on X. “Our hearts are with the students, teachers, and families impacted by this shooting, and we are grateful to the first responders and law enforcement on the scene. This is a senseless tragedy — and it does not have to be this way. We must end the epidemic of gun violence in our country once and for all.”
Law enforcement arrested a 14-year-old male suspect in connection with the shooting. Authorities announced that the suspect will be charged with murder and tried as an adult.
