TRUMP Vows US as CRYPTO Capital
On Saturday, Donald Trump headlined the world’s largest Bitcoin conference to position himself as the presidential candidate who will assist the business in dodging regulatory investigation.
At the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee, the Republican presidential nominee promised the “United States will be the crypto capital of the planet and the Bitcoin superpower of the world” if he is reelected.
Trump stated, “If Bitcoin is going to the Moon – as we say – it’s going to the Moon, I want America to be the nation that leads the way,” implying that the digital currency may exceed gold under his leadership.
Trump also promised to halt President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ “war on crypto” and fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, who is cracking down on digital currency.
He stated, “For three and a half years, the current administration has waged a war on crypto and Bitcoin like nobody’s ever seen before.”
Huge cheering greeted his announcement to fire Gensler if re-elected president.
Trump also promised to form a Bitcoin and crypto presidential advisory group to oversee the business under new laws written by “who love the industry” and want to grow it.
Trump stated in 2019, “We have only one real currency in the USA, and it is stronger than ever,” while criticizing the crypto market. The US Dollar!
He’s embraced digital money in recent years, and his campaign began collecting crypto donations in May.
His campaign companion, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), has authored and backed crypto legislation. Former venture capitalist Vance owns Bitcoin.
Cryptocurrency supporters expect a Trump presidency will mainstream Bitcoin.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro campaigned for Harris, the expected Democratic presidential contender, on Saturday to get to the top of her vice presidential candidate list.
Since Democrats ousted Biden and the 81-year-old endorsed Harris, the 59-year-old vice president is on a four-month sprint to 2024.
Shapiro is a leading candidate for Harris’ running partner. He is popular in Pennsylvania and seen as a moderate who would balance Harris, GovTrack’s most liberal senator.
Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy clapped during former President Donald Trump’s keynote speech at Bitcoin 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Trump promised to halt President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ “war on crypto.”
Former NASA astronaut Mark Kelly and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz are other leading candidates. Harris should decide by Aug. 7.
At a fundraiser in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Harris was anticipated to earn $1.4 million, far more than the $400,000 organizers had planned for, according to Politico.
