President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign suffered a significant hit following his disastrous CNN interview, in which he upset his Democrat big donors and the American people with some of his statements.

During the CNN interview that aired on Wednesday, Biden made many upsetting statements, including a false claim that inflation was at 9% when he came to power.

The president also sought to play down the American people’s pain regarding inflation.

However, Biden’s statement that landed him problems with his Democrat colleagues and megadonors was his decision to withhold Congress-approved aid to Israel. The president warned that his administration will not supply aid to Israel if its forces go into Rafah, Hamas’ last stronghold in Gaza.

“We’re going to continue to make sure Israel is secure in terms of Iron Dome and their ability to respond to attacks that came out of the Middle East recently,” Biden said. “But it’s, it’s just wrong. We’re not going to – we’re not going to supply the weapons and artillery shells.”

In an email obtained by Axios, Israeli American Democratic mega donor Haim Saban slammed the decision, adding that it sends a “terrible message to our allies in the region and beyond.”

“Let’s not forget that there are more Jewish voters, who care about Israel, than Muslim voters that care about Hamas. Bad, Bad, Bad, decision, on all levels, Please reconsider,” Saban’s email read.

Mark Mellman, a Democrat Party advocate and the CEO of Democratic Majority for Israel, said members of his group are very concerned about what appears to be a significant shift in US policy.

“There are a lot of people in the pro-Israel community who are very worried, very upset and very angry,” Mellman said, adding, “We don’t know what the consequences are going to be politically.”

Republicans have also argued that Biden’s decision to hold back Israel’s aid is a political move to influence the 2024 election in his favor. They argued that the move is similar to what led to the first impeachment of former President Donald Trump.

Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) announced Thursday that House Republicans are preparing articles of impeachment against Joe Biden over his threat to withhold Israeli aid.

“These are the same accusations made against President Trump, which resulted in his impeachment by Democrats. The same must happen for Joe Biden, which is why we’re drawing up articles of impeachment now,” Mills told Fox News.
