Emma Dumont, known for their role in the acclaimed film Oppenheimer, has recently shared their identity as trans masculine non-binary and adopted the name Nick Dumont.

The actor, who portrayed Jackie, sister-in-law to Cillian Murphy’s character, has updated their Instagram bio to reflect their new name and now uses they/them pronouns, moving away from she/her pronouns.
A spokesperson for the performer clarified that while they will maintain “Emma Dumont” as their professional name, their inner circle will address them as Nick. “They identify as a trans masculine non-binary person. Their work name is still going to be Emma Dumont, but they will go by Nick with friends and family,” the representative explained to TMZ.

Trans masculine identity typically describes individuals who, while acknowledging their biological sex, choose to express themselves in ways traditionally associated with masculinity.
The actor’s latest Instagram activity showed them sporting a notably shorter hairstyle compared to their previous appearances, with four new photographs posted on Tuesday.
Beyond their role in Oppenheimer, Dumont’s filmography includes performances in Inherent Vice, Wrong Turn, Licorice Pizza, and a stint on Marvel’s television production The Gifted.
Looking ahead, they are set to appear in an upcoming thriller titled New Me, where they will be credited under Emma Dumont.
