Kanye West continues to make waves in the entertainment industry, most recently with a provocative appearance at the Grammy Awards where he appeared to instruct his wife, Bianca Censori, to reveal a transparent mini dress on the red carpet.
For those within West’s inner circle, such headline-grabbing behavior is par for the course, as is his enduring influence despite controversy.
“The guy is completely unhinged,” said a close friend of the couple — meaning it as a compliment. “He’s the child in the classroom who won’t be tamed; the other children are following what the teacher says, but this child won’t and he’s the most popular child in the class.”
Despite losing partnerships with major brands like Balenciaga, Gap, and Adidas following controversial antisemitic statements in 2022, West’s popularity remains robust among fans.
His Yeezy footwear maintains strong demand in the secondary market. At Yankeekicks in Soho, a sales associate revealed to Page Six that coveted Yeezy Boost 350 V2s sell for $574, primarily to teenage customers.

“People are consuming his products more and more,” said the friend.
West’s musical success continues unabated, with his 2024 releases “Vultures 1” and “Vultures 2” achieving top Billboard positions and featuring collaborations with major artists.
His streaming numbers demonstrate his sustained appeal. Music industry analyst Clayton Durant notes West’s monthly Spotify listeners have increased by 1.3 million to nearly 66 million, while his Instagram following grew by 10% to 20.8 million, and his YouTube channel accumulated 1.2 billion views.
“His fan base is so faithful and so strong. They’re committed to him,” fashion designer Hoza Rodriguez, who has worked with West’s music team, told The Post.

The artist now operates independently, managing his own music distribution and selling YZY clothing through his website following the end of his Def Jam contract in 2021.
“No corporations leveraging my platform,” West posted on Instagram last month.
“He basically doesn’t sleep. He never relaxes. He’s always there to try to make art not for himself, but for all of us,” said a West insider. “That’s what he thinks, you know. It’s a duty.”
